I was intrigued by the “green” breadsticks on display at my local bakery and asked what they were. When told that they had Spirulina in them I tried one and was pleasantly surprised by their taste – so I bought a few. I knew that Spirulina is supposed to be good for you however didn’t know how much till I looked it up.
It is loaded with nutrients that can have powerful effects on your body and brain. Specifically it contains proteins, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, iron, magnesium, potassium and small amounts of almost every other nutrient that our bodies need in just a couple of grams of dried powder!!
For us runners, studies have shown that it enhances endurance; significantly increasing the time it takes to feel/become tired and also gives extra muscle strength.
