The occasional planned layoff will give our muscles time to fully recharge for our next big effort; however as it only takes a few days to get out of shape, we are planning to keep on running (“some”) during our summer hols!!!!! Our bodies may have some nicks and dents occurred during the previous months of hard training, so this toning down …. not stopping …………will do us good. Lots of sun, relaxation, quality time with our families and just soaking in the sea !!! Soooo blessed to be living in Greece.
As I mentioned in the first part, it is very important to have a good coach that understands and gives you a program that suits your capabilities. It is also equally important to have your family’s support, as your training period is not short and it takes a lot of your time and energy.
In the beginning, it is all exciting – you see your long run kilometers increasing ……..past 20 – 22 – 25 – 30. You are so happy with yourself for what you have achieved so far. Continue reading →
